Reeds Brook’s Kelsey Stoyanova Named 2022 Maine Teacher of the Year

RSU 22 is thrilled to announce that Reeds Brook Middle School’s Kesley Stoyanova has been named the 2022 Maine Teacher of the Year! We are so thankful to have Kelsey’s dedication, energy, and professionalism as part of our school community. Her desire to create fun, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences for each and every student is evident in all she does and we can’t thank her enough for commitment.

Mrs. Stoyanova, who teaches 8th grade, was nominated by two of her former students, Tessa Castrucci and Stella Fox, who are both now 9th graders at Hampden Academy. Their nominations highlighted the positive relationship Kelsey builds with her students and the incredibly supportive learning environment she creates for them.

Additionally, we are pleased to recognize Hillary Hoyt for being named a Maine Teacher of the Year finalist. Hillary currently teaches 3rd grade at Leroy H. Smith School in Winterport. We are fortunate to have both Kelsey and Hillary on our team. We are grateful for their passion for teaching and their commitment to student success; and we know our district is better because they are a part of it.
